Fire; the hearth of the heart
Sharing a unique #wildcarejournal pairing, specifically for tmrws launch! The theme of our 2 winter distillations is centered around the hearth of the heart…FIRE; the housewarming & the root of the matter.
True story: During 2 large wildfires, in 2 different states, I birthed my 2 children 2.5 years apart, both ~2 months early. Fire has been a big part of my story- an element I’ve been classically afraid of. True for a forest fire, & oneself is that at some point, we all experience a force of nature so large that movement pushes us out of a patterned place. Fire is now my life’s work. Fire warms my copper still as alchemy transforms the matter. While roots hold the ground with stability, our willingness to be agile & adaptive naturally coaxes out a dance of our own expansion & contraction. We become like fire too. The root of the matter is our lifeline; through the deep dark tunneling & tangles, we find the surface & push up to the light. A fire so bright that we grow by it, pray to it, eat thanks to it, gaze to it.
Housewarming & Root of the Matter
To be with fire is to be with our stories & community, each one feeding the other. The heat of our emotions spinning light into motion; an action & reaction. Slowly at first & as it picks up momentum, a game of truth or dare as we voice & vibrate fans the flames. As the ashes fly adrift, & the smoke carries our stories to the sky like many before us, what remains in the glowing embers is distilled resilience; bits of ourselves carried by winds of courage & cocooning, an oscillation of going into the dark and being with the light as we find our footing. We have breathed & birthed anew; our housewarming. When we are in our house, we are warmed by comfort, scent, memory, & rest. When we are in our body, we are home.
These new winter Hydrosols are tools for your kit; A contribution to weathering the natural cycles of all things as they swirl like a dual flame. So the next time someone asks you ‘What’s the matter?”, perhaps the matter is your moment to be moved by your own stories; To witness the glow of your own homecoming, to spark the magical movement of flickering fire within you.
