Goji & Color Energetics.

Goji season has arrived in our family garden. Right on time, the gojis always emerge in their vibrant red—orange hue, just as the leaves begin following suit of the nearby maple tree. 🍁

If you purchase dried gojis for your morning smoothies or bowls at $16+/lb, I highly recommend planting your own little goji bush! An abundance of little juicy, sweet gems appear right at the beginning of Autumn here in the northwest. As they show up in the perfect moment, we have the opportunity to receive a boost of carotenoids (less oxidative stress = repair mode = vibrant, nourished eyes & skin!) just as our SunRoot Solar (and soon Solid) Serum has!

There’s something interesting to me about tending to the eyes at this time of year. If you look closely and tap in, you may notice you’ve already been unconsciously feeling the seasonal shift of autumn. Maybe you started wearing more warm colors, having more hot teas and soups, changing bedsheets to a darker shade…we see an energy of less outward buzzing exuberance & more inwards nesting and creativity- highlighting a new focus on our eyes.

There’s meaning to the colors and foods that choose to be available at this wheel of the year. We know eating more seasonally can be an easy and accessible way to connect your body to the land you’re on- but consider it’s also a way that you yourself can connect with your inner, emotional world too. Let the reds and oranges of emerging pumpkins, carrots, gojis, hawthorn berries, squash, pomegranates + remind you of how your heart feels in this moment, which red & fiery emotions are ready (or not!) to be cooled. What do your eyes want to see this season- within you and outside of you? What parts of you need warming?

I’ve been exploring with tincturing, dehydrating, making extracts, snacking from our 3 year old goji plant— excited to integrate it in a formula of one of our future seasonal skincare offerings for wise/mature skin! Stay tuned.
