Plant the Seed for Bouncy, Spring Skin.

As the seasons shift…

PLANT THE SEED FOR BOUNCY, SPRING SKIN

Come into rhythm as we tend to our skin & self.

The same way we observe the first tulip bulbs stretch awake with the pull to Spring, we can observe the tiny miracles happening with our skin and self, especially as Winter moves to Spring.

With emergence, comes movement.

With every ‘tap tap tap’ of the soil being moved by seeds, sap being circulated within a tree and cool dew drops trickling down a leaf, biomimicry is quite an effective way to tap into or re-engage with our skin too. During this seasonal transition, we tend to see more skin fluctuations due to an increase in physical movement, energy shifting in the liver, and emotions being stirred. Honey tapping is one of my favorite ways to integrate and awaken; creating rhythm and flow through our lymph pathways and invigorating the skin as we strengthen it.

Read on to learn more about Honey Tapping!

Honey tapping is a ritual of engaging with your fingers and honey directly on the skin as a catalyst for movement. With a repetitive tapping motion, you’re stimulating blood flow & circulation, encouraging lymph drainage, decreasing puffiness, offering gentle exfoliation & strengthening connective tissue. I enjoy adding a small amount of our Bee Rosy Mask to this ritual for the added purifying effects of clay and herbs here.

While honey tapping offers our skin, physical and emotional wellbeing, my favorite part is that we achieve these impactful results all by touching our own face! Yes, we can remember that the most profound shifts can come from our own engagement with our bodies! No fancy tools needed - no more being afraid to make contact with our own face! Touch and be touched, (clean hands please). :)

THE PROCESS:

Mix 1/2 tsp of Bee Rosy Mask with 3 Tbs honey. Begin with clean, dry skin. Gently swipe across the face & proceed by quick tapping motions of your middle + ring fingers, leaving ample space around the eye area. The more you tap, the more you notice it getting “dryer” as the honey takes on a tacky-like sound and a gentle pulling sensation. When complete, rinse & always follow with a hefty dose of Hydrosol (my seasonal favorites are Whole Body Rose or Purple Majesty Lavender). Continue with SunRoot Solar Serum or Red Movement Oil. I take part in this ritual for about 10 minutes every few days. There are no rules ; do what feels best for you!

**If you have to option, visit your nearest farmers market to build those connections with a local beekeeper in your area to purchase honey. A bonus - consuming local honey is one of my favorite remedies for Spring allergies!

Often all we need is a deep breath & a remembering to thank our skin for showing us the road maps of where we can bring our presence to… & that usually begins with asking ourselves how we are truly doing and how we’re engaging with the rest of our body and emotions- beyond what we see with our eyes. Be kind, as you are in bloom too!
